A Maker Faire is a unique blend of science fair, carnival, and future lab. Here, technology meets creativity, existing ideas meet innovation, and engineering meets art. Touching, trying out, and participating is explicitly encouraged!

The Maker Faire originated in the USA, where it's known as "The Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth." Today, there are over 200 Maker Faires worldwide. The largest in the German-speaking region takes place in Hannover with over 200 booths and up to 20,000 visitors.

Maker Faire Lübeck 2027 is a non-profit, volunteer-organized educational and creative festival for science, technology, art, and DIY culture. Initiated by FabLab Lübeck e.V., we do not pursue any commercial interests.
A Strong Regional Network
The festival is a true collaborative network. We work closely with local actors such as the Junior Campus Lübeck and the Digital Learning Campus SH (DLC).

Hands-on Workshops & Stamp Card
Gamification for young explorers on the 2nd floor of the MuK
The Hands-on Stamp Card
Every child receives a stamp card with 8 slots upon entry. After successfully participating in a workshop, the workshop instructor stamps the field. With just 3 completed workshops (e.g. 1x technology, 1x textile, 1x ecology), the card can be exchanged at the central FabLab booth in the rotunda for a small, reward made live on site (e.g. a laser-engraved wooden badge "Junior Maker 2027" with their own name)!
We are currently preparing 8 hands-on workshops (covering coding, electronics, textile crafts, 3D printing, and ecology, among others). Our goal is to offer as many of them as possible free of charge. That depends on the material each activity requires. Detailed info will follow shortly!

Rotunda, Foyer, Gallery & Conference Rooms: On 3,000 m² of generous indoor space, private makers, clubs, schools, and universities present their creative projects. The exhibition areas are deliberately open and colorful to encourage lively exchange between exhibitors and visitors.

Lecture Centre- Short Lecture Stage: Exciting program curated and technically managed by the Lübeck association Chaotikum e.V.
- Streaming & TV: Lectures are professionally recorded and broadcast live on the OKSH mediaHub Lübeck program.

- Forecourt (1,500 m²): Space for BattleBots arena (in planning), outdoor pavilions, and the food truck mile right by the Trave.
- Outdoor Pavilions: Exhibitors may set up their own pavilions or tents on the forecourt for large-scale, loud, or noise-intensive projects (by prior arrangement).
- Food Truck Mile: Regional food trucks by the Trave invite you to linger and enjoy.

The MuK is reachable within approx. a 10-minute walk from Lübeck Central Station (follow signs towards city center / MuK).
Bus stop "Musik- und Kongresshalle" right in front of the venue. Alternatively stop "Stadthalle" (5 min walk).
Right next to the MuK is a large paid parking lot (Parkplatz MuK). We recommend climate-friendly travel by train or bicycle.
The MuK is fully accessible: All exhibition areas are step-free or reachable by elevator. Accessible restrooms are located on the ground floor and 1st floor. For specific accessibility questions, feel free to contact us in advance.
Regional food trucks on the MuK forecourt invite you to linger with a variety of meals. Drinks and snacks are also available at the MuK cafeteria. Picnic areas outdoors provide space for packed lunches.

Everything important for your visit to Maker Faire
We are currently finalizing ticket prices. Our goal is to keep access as affordable as possible. All ticket details will follow shortly.
Maker Faire is a family festival. There are exciting discoveries for young kids, interactive experiments and soldering workshops for ages 8+, career and study orientation for youth, and specialized tech talks for adults. There is something for everyone!
On the 2nd floor of the MuK (Seminar Rooms 1 to 8), 8 different hands-on workshops are planned (covering coding, electronics, textile crafts, 3D printing & ecology). You can simply walk in and participate - prior registration is not necessary. For kids, there is a hands-on stamp card with great rewards.
Joint booth setup for makers and partners takes place on Friday, July 9, 2027 starting at 12:00 PM. Infrastructure setup begins at 8:00 AM by the core team. Exhibitors with outdoor pavilions may also begin setup from 8:00 AM by prior arrangement.
The project management of Maker Faire Lübeck 2027 is voluntarily led by Andre Scholze and Marco Gabrecht from FabLab Lübeck e.V.
Yes, photos and videos for private use are very welcome! Please ask individual exhibitors or visitors briefly before taking their picture. Drone footage is unfortunately not permitted in or around the venue.
Pets are not permitted inside the MuK. The only exception is certified assistance dogs (e.g. guide dogs). Thank you for your understanding.
Yes! You will receive a re-entry hand stamp at the entrance. This allows you to leave and return at any time on the same day.
Besides the exhibitors and workshops, there is a colorful supporting program with talks, live demos, and a mascot parade! Our festival mascot and other surprise guests will be walking around and are happy to take photos and selfies with visitors of all ages.
